Virus affects Wansbeck Hospital

Posted by The Journal on Nov 18, 09 11:01 AM in News

An outbreak of the Norovirus bug which hit the Wansbeck area in Northumberland has affected patients in a local hospital.

It spread to Wansbeck General Hospital after an initial outbreak in the community and there are now 12 patients showing symptoms of the vomiting bug. The affected patients have been isolated and three wards at the hospital, in Ashington, have been closed to new admissions to prevent the bug from spreading farther.

We'd like to hear from you.
