Families can give the gift of a greener lifestyle this Christmas.

Northumberland Warm Zone is offering people the chance to buy loft or cavity wall insulation as a present for a family member or friend.

For the basic cost of ÃÂ£129 the Warm Zone team will arrange for a voucher and card to be sent to them.

The idea is part of a push by the organisation to make sure residents get the benefit of their offers which will be coming to an end in the New Year.

Dave Stephens, from Northumberland Warm Zone, said: "By making insulation a Christmas gift the recipient can have the work done either before or after Christmas and see a reduction in their energy bills of about 20% each year.

"We hope to have hundreds of people taking up this offer which covers all standard house types and comes at only ÃÂ£129 for either cavity wall or loft insulation or they can pay ÃÂ£258 and have both jobs completed."
