Ashington man's car business with a difference

A car fanatic is sharing his driving passion for Ferraris by starting a business to hire out his bright yellow supercar.

Paul Nesbit, pictured left, a former IT specialist from Ashington, bought the distinctive Ferrari 348 - the same model that featured on a poster on his bedroom wall as a boy - to launch North East Super Car Hire.

The Ashington-based business provides self-drive or chauffeur-driven hire of the mid-engined, rear wheel- drive V8-powered, two-seater sports car, which has a top speed of 170 miles per hour.

He said: "Generations of youngsters have grown up with pictures of classic sports cars on their walls. Now I can help people to make their driving dreams come true by hiring out the Ferrari by the day, weekend or week.

"There are so many reasons why people hire the Ferrari.

"Investing in a classic sports car is a major investment and I've had enquiries from people who want to drive one before they commit to buying one themselves."

His initial enquiries have ranged from people who want to book a birthday treat, or for special occasions such as weddings.

The business was set up with guidance from Go Wansbeck enterprise coach Graeme Trotter (pictured with Paul).

Mr Trotter said: "Paul is a real entrepreneur with drive who has invested not only in this fabulous car but also the Wansbeck area."
