Recognition for outstanding carers
Age Concern Northumberland recently held their annual Home Care Attendant Awards, at The Round House in Ashington.
The event was held to recognise the exceptional contribution made by Age Concern Northumberland's home carers, as part of the Home Care Service we provide in the County of Northumberland.

The awards are a way of showing the organisation's appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our home carers.
The Chair of the Trustees fro Age Concern Northumberland, Madeleine Elliott, presented seven home carers with their awards, as two recipients were unable to attend.
During the presentations, quotes were read by Age Concern Northumberland's Deputy Chief Executive, Aileen Alexander, taken from the nomination forms, which were poignant and expressed the appreciation felt by the service users for their home carers.
One service user said "in my opinion I couldn't have a better carer, she steps in with help when she knows I can't manage and always remembers my routine, she is one lovely person."
Gary Brown, Chief Executive for Age Concern Northumberland, said of the event "Our home care provision provides an excellent service, and we took this opportunity to celebrate the contribution of individual carers, who were nominated by their service users, for making a difference to their lives."
