Hirst Park Trout Ticklers enjoy final fishing day

Posted by The Journal on Oct 21, 09 09:08 AM in Clubs/Societies

Hirst Park Trout Ticklers' final fishing day of the season at Derwent Reservoir on Saturday saw 10 junior anglers landing 20 fish.

Daniel Hindmarch had the day's heaviest bag with five for 8lb 12oz to win a free day's fishing donated by reservoir staff.

Andrew Whitehall, fishing Green Powerbait at Pow Hill, landed the heaviest fish.

As club champion and a senior club member, he passed the prize, a £10 voucher, to junior member Harley Dixey.

Junior members now look forward to meeting at Hirst Park Middle School, Ashington, on Wednesday November 11 for their first fly tying session of the season.
