Week of action in North Seaton
A week of action will bring a facelift for a Northumberland village.
Police in North Seaton are joining forces with residents to help improve the area and bring the community closer together.
Officers from the Ashington Neighbourhood Policing Team, Coun Jimmy Lang, Wansbeck Homes, North Seaton Residents' Association and Northumberland County Council's Neighbourhood Services Team are all working together to provide a series of events throughout the week.
Activities involve workshops, clean-ups and high-visibility patrols by police, community wardens and staff from Wansbeck Homes.
North Seaton neighbourhood beat manager, PC Allan Dunn, said: "The week's activities give the neighbourhood team the opportunity to speak to residents, address local concerns and work with partners.
"We're helping the local community to take ownership and pride in their area and to improve their quality of life."
Events include neighbourhood officers giving presentations to the community on a range of issues from bullying to anti-social behaviour, community wardens offering free fire safety and smoke detector checks and Wansbeck Homes officers removing graffiti.
There will also be crime prevention advice for residents, free health checks from NHS staff, free handyman services for the over 60s and after school activities.
We'd like to hear from you. Send your stories, pics and videos to northumberland@ncjmedia.co.uk
