Accolade for young Ashington dancer
Talented young dancer Ruth Candlish gained a pass with distinction in modern jazz at a recent British Theatre Dance Association examination.
The 12-year-old Ashington schoolgirl, who is a pupil of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea dance teacher Mary Hunter, loves competing in dance festivals where she has made friends with youngsters from schools all over the country.
Her Foundation level pass is on parity with a GCSE qualification.
