Hirst High celebrating last ever A-level results
Students across Northumberland are looking forward to university life after picking up top grades in their A-levels.
Ashington's Hirst High School is celebrating its last ever A-level results before becoming part of the new Northumberland Church of England Academy in September.

Its A-level pass rate increased from 90% last year to 91% and headteacher Lesley Craig couldn't be happier. She said: "Everyone has put in a tremendous amount of effort and I'm delighted.
"This is our last ever A-level results day and each year has got better and better.
"The fact they are better than last year is phenomenal and one of the notable things about this year's group is that they are engaging in high end university courses, very academic and very interesting."
Hirst High student, Lee Scott, was overjoyed to make the grades he needed to get onto a business computing course at Northumbria University.
Lee, a striker for Ashington FC first team, has ambitions in the computer world and secured his place with Bs in geography and ICT and a C in PE.
He said: "I am so pleased because I was feeling a bit nervous. I didn't think I would get the grades in one subject."
Kris Lavery will study law at Leeds Metropolitan University after gaining a B in ICT, a C in English language, and a D in PE. He said: "I am really pleased. It has been a bit stressful. I want to be a solicitor and possibly start my own law firm.''
Lewis Harding gained Bs in graphics and ICT and a C in business studies to clinch his place at Northumbria University doing business studies.
He said: "I am chuffed. I want to start off working for a company and then try and get the knowledge to run my own business and become an entrepreneur."
