Ashington Colliers start season with defeat

Posted by The Journal on Aug 17, 09 04:31 PM in Sport

Ashington Colliers kicked off their new Northern Alliance campaign at the weekend with a 3-2 defeat at Carlisle City.

Walker Central, aiming for a hat-trick of Premier Division titles, got off to a shaky start under new manager Michael Jeffels.

The Central were rather fortunate to salvage a point from their 1-1 draw with visitors Wark who had Marc Nixon opening the scoring in the 80th minute. David Dormand levelled with five minutes to go.

We'd like to hear from you.
