A group of young budding fashion designers from across Northumberland are to meet the man famed for making the world's most expensive dress.

Womenswear designer Scott Henshall will be at Northumberland College's main campus in Ashington tomorrow to give tips to students.

Scott, who is best-known for making a £5m dress and taking part in I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! in 2006, will meet and work with students taking part in a four-day fashion summer school, organised by the London College of Fashion (LCF) in partnership with the college.

He will also pick four overall winners to be announced at the catwalk show finale, to be held at the Woodhorn Northumberland Museum Archives and Country Park tomorrow evening.

This is the second year the LCF has teamed up with Northumberland College to give young people in the county the opportunity to discover what studying fashion is all about.

The scheme has seen the group create innovative garments using the local landscape as the inspiration for their designs.

Patrick O'Doherty, head of the School of Art and Design at Northumberland College, said: "We are really pleased to be able to host the summer school and work with the London College of Fashion again this year.

"It gives teenagers in our area who are interested in a career in fashion a chance to experience the industry first hand."

The public are welcome to come along to the fashion show finale at the Woodhorn Museum which starts at 6.50pm sharp tomorrow.

Entry is free with drinks and canapés provided but booking is essential. To book please contact Michele Buchanan on 0207 514 9350 or e-mail m.buchanan@fashion.arts.ac.uk.
