Have your say on policing in Ashington

Families in Northumberland are being invited to have their say on policing in their area at a special meeting.

A Police and Community Together meeting will be held for people living in Ashington, Ellington, Linton, Lynemouth and Newbiggin.

The session is designed to give residents a chance to meet their Neighbourhood Policing Teams and discuss any problems they have in their area.

Issued raised will be acted on by police who will also look for long-term solutions to problems put forward.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 8, at Hirst Welfare, in Alexandra Road, Ashington, starting at 9am.

It will be run by the police but neighbourhood complaints will be discussed with council staff the day after.

Ashington Neighbourhood Sgt Jon Bensley said: "We hope residents will take this opportunity to attend the meeting to highlight the issues affecting them in their areas.

"The meetings are intended to let people have a say on how their local neighbourhood is policed, find out how local issues are currently addressed and meet local officers."

We'd like to hear from you.
