Century for Prudhoe in Ashington win
After back-to-back victories had lifted Lintz spirits the club are right back in the relegation mixer after a heavy defeat by Wellstream NTSL leaders Swalwell on Saturday.
The visitors were unable to cope with the twin threat of Richard Hawthorne (4 for 25) and Nicky Phillips (3 for 33) as they were bowled out for 105 in the 45th over.
And the champions were home and hosed inside 22 overs as Lloyd Anderson cracked nine fours in his 54, and Hawthorne rounded off his day with an unbeaten 39 in a nine-wicket win.
With Lintz picking up just the solitary point the two teams below them made up a little ground even though they were both heavily beaten.
Joe Barber (83) and Barry Stewart (75) were in stupendous batting form for Tynedale in their game at Ryton, and even though David Bailey did well to pick up five wickets the bottom club were staring down the barrel after being set 305 to win.
And then John Robertson (5 for 25) and Liam Pringle (4 for 13) fired the bullets as Ryton were fatally wounded for 100.
It was a fairly short afternoon for Benwell and Walbottle at Sacriston, where Melvyn Betts was simply unplayable. In 13.2 overs, which included seven maidens, he had figures of four for eight.
And with Ben Hall also picking up four wickets there was no way out as the Bottle were corked for 117. Harry Hubber (10 fours in 49no) and Betts (six fours and one six in 39no) then powered Sacriston to an eight-wicket win in the 26th over.
Morpeth recorded their fifth win of the season to move level with Percy Main in third place. There were runs throughout the order for Morpeth, with number 10 bat Chris Horner top-scoring with 52 not out as the visitors closed on 242 for 9.
Chris Reagan (four for 18) and Michael Craigs (three for 33) then proved too potent for Main, who ended exactly 100 runs short.
In the day's other games Shotley Bridge continued to hang on to Swalwell's coat-tails after a 144-run thumping of Leadgate, and Simon Prudhoe scored a scintillating 135 not out as Ashington defeated Annfield Plain by 42 runs.
