Ashington CC thrash Ryton
Mohtashim made his long-awaited seasonal debut for Percy Main in the Wellstream NTSL on Saturday, and seemed intent on making up for lost time.
Ali (61) found willing batting accomplices as Malcolm Clarke (48) and Simon Curtis (49no) helped him take Main past the 200 mark against visitors Leadgate.
And it was the same story with the ball, he took 3-28, complemented by James Butler (3-29) and Richie Walker (3-23), as Main picked up a convincing 74-run win.
But that wasn't the most comprehensive performance of the day - that came at Ryton where Ashington treated their hosts to a 219-run mauling.
The writing was on the wall when the Colliers amassed 285-4, this on the back of a glorious century from Simon Prudhoe. Jonathan Sadler (4-19) and Stephen Boyd (3-18) then got right amongst the home batsmen and capitulation to 66 all out quickly followed.
Lintz could have been similarly overwhelmed by the size of their task when visitors Tynedale put on 248-4, Barry Stewart (69) heading a trio of half centurions.
But Gary Christie (59) got the home reply off to the best of starts, and Andy Smith turned the screw with a superb unbeaten 104 as Lintz made it two wins in a row.
And the runs were flowing at Swalwell where the champions raced to 268-5 against bottom club Benwell & Walbottle, with Ian Pattison (100) and Richard Hawthorne (90) making life a misery for the bowlers.
But the visitors didn't lose their bottle as Kamran Mansoor (72) helped gather valuable bonus points for Benwell as they made the 200 mark, even though their eventual nemesis was Nicky Phillips who included a hat-trick in his 7-32.
Anoop Pai will be wondering what went wrong at Longhirst Hall. The Annfield Plain pro hit 87 and took five wickets but still ended up on the losing side as Morpeth knocked off the daunting target of 240 with their last pair at the crease.
Shotley Bridge defeated Sacriston by five wickets.
