Ashington 15-year-old arrested for drugs possession
Police executed three search warrants in Blyth, Hexham and Morpeth resulting in three arrests, during a week-long drugs blitz across Northumberland and Tyne and Wear.
A 36-year-old Blyth man was given a penalty notice for cannabis production and possessing cannabis, a 25-year-old man from Hexham was given a penalty notice for possession of a Class B drug and an 18-year-old from Morpeth was given a caution for possessing a Class B drug.
Police seized around 20 cannabis plants, Skunk worth around £100, eight anabolic steroids, and cannabis resin and equipment used for cultivating drugs.
Police also arrested and charged a 40-year-old woman from Blyth for possessing a Class A drug and arrested and charged a 15-year-old from Ashington for possession of a class B drug.
Police in Northumberland have also been working with the Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) and going into local schools to educate children on the dangers of drugs.
