Ashington man sets off on epic cycling tour
Adventurous Paul Air is about to embark on the ride of his life - an epic solo cycling tour of the capital cities of the British Isles.
There will be no support team for the 27-year-old from Ashington when he sets out on the 1,000-mile ride from Princes Street, Edinburgh, next month.
Paul will have to sort out accommodation himself each day. Taking a few ferries along the way, he is cycling from Edinburgh to Belfast Dublin, Cardiff and London in around 12 days.
The Cap2Cap ride will raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event was staged for the first time last year by a pair of North East fitness fanatics who dreamed up the idea of hitting every UK capital after seeing Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman complete the Long Way Down in aid of Unicef.
Lee Ford, 25, of Stakeford, and Clive Robertson, 45, of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, raised more than £5,000 for Cancer Research on the trip, never attempted before.
