Borrow a bike for bank holiday fun

Posted by Richard Fletcher on Apr 24, 09 12:03 PM in What's On

Families can make the most of the improving weather with a day out in Ashington.

As part of its "Active in Ashington" campaign, Sustrans is organising a bike ride for all ages, and you don't even need to own a bike.

The whole family can come along and take out mountain bikes, chariots and tagalongs, all for free, to take part in the ride around the QE2 lake at the Woodhorn Museum and Country Park.

People who enjoy biking can also arrange a long-term loan of a bike, or even get their own bike fixed for free.

Also, everyone who takes part will be put into a draw for helmets and other bike-related gear.

The ride takes place on the bank holiday, May 4, from 10am until 3.30pm. For more information contact Mark Curr or Adam Bell on 01670 524063 or mark.curr@sustrans.org.uk.

We'd like to hear from you.
