Ashington card shop launches schools contest
A North East business has launched a competition for primary schoolchildren as part of its "match our million" campaign with Macmillan Cancer Support.
Card Factory, in Ashington has set children the task of creating a design for a coffee mug following the theme of My Family.
A panel will select their favourite design which Card Factory will then print on to a limited edition coffee mug.
This mug will be sold in stores nationwide in the run up to Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning, being held on Friday, September 25, with all profits going to help improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
Entry forms are available in the Card Factory store in Station Road and parents simply need to validate the entry online at www.cardfactory.eu.com
Card Factory is also offering a prize of ã1,000 to the winner's school to be spent on arts and crafts materials.
Teachers can download entry forms from the Card Factory website enabling their pupils to participate.
The Ashington store has supported Macmillan Cancer Support for three years.
Alongside other branches, it helped raised more than ã1m for the worthy cause last year.
This year, the retailer has challenged the public to match that million by donating their spare change in store.
We'd like to hear from you. Send your stories, pics and videos to northumberland@ncjmedia.co.uk
