Guided walk in the countryside

Posted by Richard Fletcher on Mar 12, 09 04:02 PM in What's On

Enjoy a leisurely stroll while hearing about some of your local history from an expert.

Sustrans, the sustainable transport charity, are inviting people to come along on their Bothal Church Heritage Walk, a five-mile walk suitable for all ages.

The leisurely walk follows the River Wansbeck to the historic Bothal Church and back, and local historian Barry Mead will be pointing out areas of interest.

It starts at the Riverside camping and caravan park car park and then goes west. Look for the Sustrans banner near the playground at the start.

It takes place on Sunday, March 22, from 1-4pm, and wellingtons may come in handy. Refreshments will be provided. Participants are asked to register as a maximum of only 30 people are able to take part.

To book call Mark on 01670 524 063 or e-mail mark.curr@sustrans.org.uk

We'd like to hear from you.
