Event in Ashington to highlight substance abuse issues

Protecting children whose parents are involved in substance use is the theme of a series of forthcoming events.

Northumberland Safeguarding Children Board's Hidden Harm Network has organised the help and advice events for people who work with children, young people and their families across the county where there are concerns of problematic parental substance use.

Seven multi-disciplinary "Hidden Harm" events are being staged.

The dates and venues are: Tuesday, March 10, 9.30-12.30am - Choppington Social Welfare Centre. Thursday, March 12, 9.30-12.30am - Hexham Auction Mart.

Monday, March 16, 9.30-12.30am - Marshall Meadows Hotel, Berwick. Thursday, March 19, 9.30-12.30am and 1.45-4.45pm - Woodhorn Colliery, Ashington.

Tuesday, March 23, 9.30-12.30am and 1.45-4.45pm - Choppington Social Welfare Centre.
