Ashington rue missed chances
Chester-le-Street moved into mid-table of the Northern League Division 1 with victory at Ashington, who paid the penalty for failing to turn scoring opportunities into goals on the board.
The Colliers made the best possible start, however, taking the lead on six minutes with a tremendous drive from Michael Fenwick, but within seven minutes Craig Price and Wayne Gredziak set up Josh Home-Jackson, who slotted home from close range.
With just two minutes remaining, Gredziak and the Colliers' goalkeeper Kyle Hayes tangled and the ball spun into the corner of the net.
