Northumberland College to aid Sri Lankan tourism

Posted by The Journal on Jan 19, 09 11:31 AM in News

Lecturers have returned from a visit to Sri Lanka where they have been developing a new training package for the country's travel and tourism industry.

Northumberland College's travel and tourism head of department Sheena Towns, international manager Stewart Deas, and lecturer Mark Rossi have been training teachers from the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Colombo to deliver courses to their students.

The 10-day visit was funded by the British Council. Four teachers from Sri Lanka will pay a return visit to Northumberland College in February to undertake further training and development.

We'd like to hear from you.
