Consett speak with confidence before Ashington clash
Consett break new ground tomorrow when they line up against Ashington in a crucial Skilltrainingltd Northern League First Division clash.
Ashington are again under strength and manager Andy Gowens cannot call upon defenders Paul Dunn, David Tremble or Justin Millican.
Consett manager Kenny Lindoe is confident the Steelmen can maintain the challenge for the title in the New Year.
He said: "We haven't played at their new ground so it will be an experience, but what's more important is that we come away with all three points.
"I wasn't happy with our first-half performance against Dunston Federation last Saturday and gave the lads a real roasting during the interval.
"It seemed to do a lot of good since we were much better in the second period. Tomorrow, we've got to hit the ground running and we cannot afford to concede an early goal."
Lindoe definitely misses Mark Gaffney who will be replaced by David Johnston. In addition, he awaits news on the availability of goalkeeper Paul Gilmore and has James Platten standing by.
We'd like to hear from you. Send your stories, pics and videos to northumberland@ncjmedia.co.uk
