Ashington motorists urged to be on guard

Posted by The Journal on Dec 28, 08 04:27 PM in News

Motorists are being urged to be on their guard after a spate of thefts.

The advice from police in Northumberland follows several recent thefts of bags, sat navs and other valuables from cars in the Ashington area and is part of the Don't Let Thieves Steal Your Christmas Campaign.

Motorists are being reminded to make sure their vehicles are locked, even if left unattended for only a short time.

Officers are also asking motorists to be aware of the possibility of criminal damage to their vehicles over the festive period and to take care where they park them.

Anyone with information about such criminal activity is asked to contact their neighbourhood policing team on 03456 043 043, ext 68930.

We'd like to hear from you.
