Ashington 3, Billingham Town 1
Ashington won their third game in nine attempts and are mid-table in the Skilltrainingltd Northern League Division One after defeating Billingham Town 3-1 at Woodhorn Lane.
The Teessiders scored first after nine minutes when Leon Carling's free-kick found Martin Thompson, who slammed the ball into the far corner of the net wide of goalkeeper Paul Simpson.
Two goals in a minute put the Colliers in the ascendancy. Robbie Cockburn crashed the ball into the roof of the net after being set-up by Lee McAndrew and immediately, Alan Hogg pierced the visitors' defence before Michael Fenwick netted on the turn.
With four minutes remaining, Ashington made certain of the points as Gareth Bainbridge fired wide of goalkeeper Jamie Wiggin after being put through by Paul Dunn.
